In a classroom over ten years ago, Jessica and Megan met and quickly formed a lasting friendship. Their shared love for photography and people led them to establish The MaeWood Collective, where they combine their eclectic skills to capture love stories. Beyond weddings, they also pursue family photography in their local areas, exploring their individual creativity. While they both travel the East Coast and beyond for weddings, Jes is based in Northern Neck Virginia and Meg is local to Southern Pennsylvania. We are your documentary style wedding photographers.

A desert girl with a heart that will always partially reside in Maryland. I am stoked that you landed on this tiny space of the world wide web, and I hope that you stick around a bit! Since you stopped on in to get to know us, I will hop right to it. I am a mamma, wife, and story teller with a general obsession for puppies and food. I started this journey of photography looking through old photo albums with my grandmother and playing with the hundreds of disposable cameras we had. Even though it has always been a passion of mine, photography wasn't my first career. With a background in education, I come to every wedding day with a teacher's heart, compassion, patience, guidance, education, management, love, HUGS & fun (plus the occasional ninja move, of course)!

When is the last time you fell in love with a vendor? From the first interview we had with Jes & Meg, we knew that we had found our photographers. Their energy, confidence, and professionalism are unmatched by anything I have ever seen. They blew us away with their ability to adapt to weather, venue, and wardrobe issues & deliver images that far exceeded expectation. They double as wedding coordinators helping make sure that we weren't forgetting things that could detract from our big day. Then, the big day arrived. Jes and Meg made everything SO(!) FUN(!) - the stress of the day melted away and everyone had a great time. With regard to delivery, timeliness, and issues.. everything came early, everything exceeded expectation, and we had ZERO issues.
