Have you ever seen one of those movies where you’re unsure when it takes place? One where the scenery looks like something out of a history book? The people, their words, the music, the vibrant COLOR all seem more contemporary? The love being celebrated… well, that was one for all the ages.
That’s exactly how we felt stepping onto the scene of Jane & Greg’s big day at the 1840s Plaza in Baltimore, MD! Between starting their day getting ready at the 1840’s Carrollton Inn, their post-ceremony flower petal sendoff, to their choreographed modern first dance, we couldn’t tell if we were witnessing a WWII celebration of a soldier’s return or a present-day pledge of love and devotion. Either way, the occasion was momentous, to say the least!
Max Muller once said,
“A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love.”
Like a flower, Jane & Greg’s love has blossomed over the course of their relationship through the sunshine that is their supportive partnership, mutual honor and respect, continual growth, and a whole lot of life experiences along the way! They care for one another unconditionally, balance each other beautifully, and encourage each other to strive to be the best versions of themselves.
Jane & Greg have also overcome significant health scares and challenges that further validated their absolute devotion to one another. Rather than crumbling in the face of adversity, Jane and Greg overcame obstacles to further strengthen their love and reinforce their commitment to one another.
The guests in attendance at the Plaza on Friday were there to show their support for Jane and Greg, but they were also there to celebrate the amazing journey that our gorgeous couple had made to make it to the big day. This wasn’t just a performative “for the ‘gram” party vibe.
This was collective revelry of Jane & Greg’s inspirational journey together. A group victory lap for Jane & Greg; for all the deployments, hardships, and health scares the laughter, growth, and triumphs along the way. For every step that led them to this exact moment on exactly this night to this historic hidden gem amidst the hustle and bustle of the modern-day skyline of Baltimore City.
We’ve been to a lot of weddings… like A LOT, but we’ve never seen anything quite like what transpired next. You see, Jane and Greg’s closest friends and family came together to make a tunnel for the couple’s recessional. While we’ve seen plenty of couples exit through a pack of their nearest and dearest, we’ve never seen guests shower the couple with flower petals from the bride’s personal collection of blossoms saved from every bouquet Greg has given her over the years.
To see a couple be sprinkled with the preserved petals of flowers from meaningful moments throughout their relationship was simultaneously sentimental and timeless, which, to be honest, is quite perfect considering the mix of the venue’s classic elegance and the wedding’s exquisite contemporary feel. We really felt as though we were both watching history and living it all at the same time. And, again, were transported to another era.
Not only is the 1840s Plaza & Carrollton Inn eternally etched on Jane & Greg’s hearts, Jane & Greg are also forever imprinted on the Plaza’s grounds as well. Among the brick, some of which are newer and customized, others dating back to the Plaza’s founding that survived the great Baltimore fire in 1904, a courtyard that connects the Inn & Plaza is a very special brick adorning Jane & Greg’s name and memorializing their special day.
Now, every time they visit the grounds, Jane & Greg have a visible reminder of that same joy and adulation they felt on March 25, 2022! So, not only are they now a married couple, they also get to become a part of future couples’ love stories. They will be forever connected by the bond of being a literal part of the Plaza’s iconic brickwork and a symbolic piece of Baltimore’s living history.
We are so darn proud of you both and so excited to see where this life takes you. We are honored that you chose us to be a part of your day and we can’t wait to capture every new adventure and season of your life!
