Katie and Rob Waterfront Wedding at Weatherly Farm

The Coster-Foard waterfront wedding at Weatherly Farm was absolutely gorgeous and, in many ways, served as an impromptu North Harford High School reunion. Jes was friends and graduated with many of the guests, while Meg knew several from her tenures as both a student and teacher at NHHS! And though our North Harford connection from back in the day (2007) made this particular wedding that much more special to us, what truly stood out was the beautiful coalescence of strong family bonds, lifelong friendships, and Katie and Rob’s pure adoration for one another…with a side order of inherent fun and comedic shenanigans.

As Katie sat inside her bridal suite, with her sister and best friends surrounding her, she read the note Rob wrote to her.

“You are truly my beacon of hope, my compass, and my center…” Absolutely adorable, right? Then before we know it, Katie is giggling as she continues to read. “We go to Kings Dominion one year, and then when I think it can’t get any better, we find ourselves at Hershey Park! Amusement parks aside I have had countless best days of my life with you.”

Meanwhile, Rob is out on the balcony reading his letter from Katie. He smiles as he is reminded of how he teases her (in the sweetest ways) about how often she says “I love you.” But in her letter, she explains that “Saying I love you everytime we get off the phone isn’t just a habit. You see, it’s from the time you kiss me goodbye in the morning until you call me on your lunch break, the “I love you” I say on the phone isn’t the same as the “I love you” from the morning, because I can think of one hundred new and different reasons why I love you in that short amount of time.”

Example # 1 of that sweet balance we were talking about. Love and laughter. But this wasn’t the only example. It was also displayed through the emotional speeches given by her sister, Rachel, and her cousin, Lindsay; the hysterical and sweet speech given by Rob’s brother, Charlie, the thoughtful table of remembrance, and the adorably funny photographs marked with dates used as their table numbers.

Woven into those sweet, sentimental moments and details throughout the day were moments of sheer hilarity and genuine fun. Here are some of our LOL Highlights (disclaimer: some of these are inside jokes, others are observations we made throughout the day that demonstrate just how amazingly fun-loving Katie, Rob, and their families are; some names/words may have been changed/omitted for privacy reasons; we find each and every one of these items to be amazing):

All sorts of super fun lawn games at the reception (corn hole, ginormous dice games, tic-tac-toe, etc.)
“Yeah, someone’s definitely going to see my snapper,” said by one of the bridesmaids who will remain nameless! (Anybody know what a snapper is… because this one was new to us!)
Hearing Charlie (Rob’s brother and best man) shout “YAASSSSS Queen!!!” from the balcony above us as we (Jes & Meg, Ben & Jen, the awesome videographers!) were absolutely dying over the shots of Katie & Rob we were getting on the bottom veranda
Bouquet-toss winner switch-up! Remember those shenanigans we mentioned earlier? This was one of them! And a very well executed shenanigan at that. The DJ must have either been in on this particular practical joke, or is a champ at adapting on the fly, because he set it up seamlessly by having the winner of the garter toss put on a blindfold to perform the customary wedding tradition (ya know, “every inch above her [the bouquet winner’s] knee is a year of happiness for the couple”). While our unsuspecting gentleman was being guided to the lovely bouquet toss winner’s vicinity, one of the groomsmen nonchalantly dropped trow and quickly switched places with her. The room roared with laughter as Chris, our garter toss champion tentatively tried to locate our bouquet babe’s leg to slip the garter on, only to make the realization that something funny was afoot.
