Alright ya’ll… spring is right around the corner, and lucky for us Arizonians, we are already enjoying the spring weather! This time of year gets me excited for new possibilities, trying new things, cleaning out shop, and decorating! So, I thought it would be fun to share my current top ten things I am loving right now! They probably aren’t trending, I am not a blogger or a fashionista… I am probably doing this all wrong, but it is real. It is me! I feel like my top ten things have been the same for quite some time now, and since moving to Arizona, doing lots of therapy sessions, and finding my true likes and desires, things have changed a bit! I am excited to show you what they are. So, here it goes! A little bit about me. In no particular order.
I found this Built Tumbler after running into the Fallston Walmart for a quick grab. I had already told myself that I couldn’t get anything but what I went in there to get, and of course, I walked past a rose gold built cup. Yup, that’s right. ROSE GOLD! My favorite. It is in my nose, on my phone case, and now, it is the color of my daily water cup! Currently my favorite recent purchase!
Guys… this damn business might take me broke. Since we are redoing our home… decorating, styling, renovating, the whole nine… I was in search of beautiful and great quality pillowcases that added a little spice and color to the white house I have always wanted! I came across Studio Pillows on Instagram and I am obsessed. UGH! Not only are the pillowcases amazing, sturdy, beautiful, and hand made… but the styles, the brand, and the owner, Karis, are just insanely speaking to my heart these days.
Karis has amazing customer services, truly appreciates all the feedback and love she receives and is a true human behind her business. She is right up there with JoAnna Gains in my book, friends! YOU MUST CHECK HER OUT! All that aside, when you open her shipment of pillowcases, it makes your house smell like HEAVEN! And she doesn’t even spray them with any scents. The power of essential oils, I tell ya!

Every time I talk about my Echo Show, people think I am crazy. They don’t want people to be able to just drop into their home at any time and say hello via a little screen, but I LOVE IT! It allows me to spend time with little Lily Bear, it allows us to have dinner with my parents and hang out on weekends even though we are thousands of miles apart, and it even gives me visuals when I ask Alexa a question. I highly recommend an Echo Show for friends and family that live far away!
If you know me, you know I have a juice problem. Yes, like juice that comes from fruit. I crave it on the daily, but I know it is so BAD FOR ME! So… I dilute it into a huge portion of water just to give it some flavor. My current favorite juice is the Simply Peach. I came across this a few months back when I was visiting my parents. It has been on repeat in my fridge ever since!
Someone needs to help me. Tell me to stop! I love plants inside our home, and recently I have been on a hanging planter kick! Inside and out. Home Goods has a great selection of fake hanging succulent plants. TJ Maxx had my absolutely favorite cement hanging pot. Unfortunately, if you saw my IG stories, that is the one that I smashed my face into and it broke. (Face Palm Now!) So I put it back together, cut off the cord, and stuck it right on my shelf!
On a normal day you can find me in my yoga pants, but if I have to leave the house you may just find me in my H&M Denim Bib Overalls because I am a little obsessed. They extremely comfy, lightweight, and allow me to look like I actually got dressed and ready, when I didn’t! They have a bit of a throwback, retro vibe and I love the light breeze that passes through the large ripped holes. I had been looking for a pair of overalls for a long time, a comfy cute pair of overalls with holes in the pant legs.
It took me two years to find the perfect pair. With long legs, a short torso, and an overall height of 5’1″, I struggled to find the perfect fit. They were often too tight, too stretchy, too dark, or too something that kept me from the purchase. When I found these, I ran to the counter for the buy (against my daughter’s advice to hang them back on the rack!), and I don’t regret it one bit!
There was always something about walking into a home that had a sweet little guest basket in the guest bedroom on the bathroom. My goal in our new home is to make it feel welcoming and inviting for friends and family to stay, so I finally put together a basket for guests to pull from if they are in need! It is now my favorite little corner in the house. Here are a few items we chose to add.
Tea Tree Facial Wash
Charcoal Wood Handled Toothbrushes
Bar of Soap
Galaxy S9 Photos
I grew up in a house with washcloths and I learned to hate them. I don’t have a washcloth for the shower or the kitchen sink. They begin to smell after the first use, they drip, they are cold when you go to pick them back up… I am just not interested. Well, because of this, we go through paper towels like crazy. Rolls and rolls of paper towels. Not only is that harsh on the bank account, but it isn’t I want to add into the environment. I want to reduce, reuse, and recycle when I can. So, when we were out shopping, Michael grabbed an 18 pack of terry cloths for $3.97 from Walmart.
When he placed them in the cart, I picked them up and put them back on the shelf. his immediate response? To place them back in the cart! I was not for his plan to use these terry cloths instead of paper towels, but after the weeks went by, I found myself using them more than anyone else in the house! We use them as a one and done. Wipe up spills, spot clean the floor, wipe our hands off at dinner. It doesn’t matter how dirty they get, we use them once, throw them in a hot brilliant whites cycle, and place them right back in the kitchen drawer to use again. I am obsessed with these, friends. Try it and you might become obsessed too!
When I worked as a special educator, I loved using my outlook calendar to keep all of my daily tasks in order. Since I was an itinerant, and I didn’t have a classroom, I traveled between different schools, volunteer and work locations for my students, and different businesses in the community, so I was required to keep my schedule on the digital calendar so that everyone knew where to find me!
It worked, and I liked to use the technology so that my schedule was always at my fingertips. Since I took our photography business full time, I have realized that the digital calendars and to-do lists just aren’t for me anymore. I want to be able to jot down notes, have a daily to-do list, and a daily scheduled calendar all on one page.
You guys… I searched EVERYWHERE, and I even bought a handful of calendars/planners that I filled out and tried, but they just didn’t work. Well. I FOUND IT! The 8×10 Blue Sky Day Designer Weekly/Monthly Planner is the biggest asset in my business. I found mine at Target, but they are also on Amazon (currently sold out). The tricky thing is, there are a few different Blue Sky Day Designers that look exactly the same, but the inside pages are different! There is also a 5×8 option, but I prefer the larger planner.
There is something about capturing memories and stopping time forever that intrigues my soul. Being able to hold a vintage, film camera. An innovative piece of equipment during its time, that photographed stories and lives that I will never know or see with my own eyes is the fire behind why I am a photographer. One day… that may be my camera. One day, that may be my images. The families, love stories, milestones, and trends that I photograph today. And I love that. My very first vintage camera was gifted to me by my best friend, Mallory, and the collection has continued.
