It was a hot sticky morning in Los Angeles, California. Unusually warm for December as we hiked to the top of Kenneth Hahn State park, one of my favorite places to shoot. We started a little later than expected and we were trying a brand-new spot for the first time, so the sun acted accordingly, like a bright ball of fire with little shade to hide from it! But that’s okay, we were there as a team to capture beautiful photographs representing love and engagement for the relaunch of our website, and that’s exactly what we did.
Back in May, when I first moved to California, I walked around town handing out my business cards. Through this practice, I met Haley Hanson and her brother Gavin. They are siblings, roommates, full of fun, and talented. Haley has a knack for makeup and hair and since then, we have connected to create beautiful artwork together through a variety of sessions and styles. I absolutely love working with her. She has sparkling eyes the size of Texas and a smile that brings joy to your heart, and I was pumped when she agreed to help me put together this styled session for our new re-brand.
She recruited her brother and a good friend, Molly, and we got to work! Molly threw on an old dress of a neutral color with flow, Haley touched up her makeup, and we grabbed a bouquet of simple hydrangea blooms from the local florist in town, and that is all it took. Beautiful smiles, true friendship and love for one another, and my direction for posing into natural, loving, candid shots. We giggled, we danced, and we had an amazing time together as we overlooked the city of Los Angeles.
