This past weekend, Steph, Denny, and an intimate group of family and friends prepared for their wedding day festivities in Monkton, MD. The skies opened and rain continued to fall as the sun hid behind gray clouds. The weather made it tricky to be outside for portraits, required a tent to be put up for the ceremony, meanwhile wet umbrellas rested next to every door of The Manor Tavern.

We have to admit…if any external factors bothered Steph and Denny on their special day, they didn’t show it one bit! During portraits outside, we continuously thanked our intrepid bride and groom for being such troopers as a chilly mist blew sideways under their clear umbrella and goosebumps appeared on their arms. Denny just laughed, looked deep into Steph’s eyes, gently kissed her, and said how much he’s always liked the rain. The only thing that mattered on their wedding day was that they were together, celebrating their love story with those they cherish most.

Steph and Denny had been patiently waiting for their wedding day since Denny proposed back in May of 2017. Their story started with a long-distance friendship, as they bonded with each other in a way neither had felt before, despite being on opposite sides of the country. When they met in person for the first time, they had an instant connection. The deep friendship they had formed while Steph lived in California and Denny lived in Maryland quickly blossomed into full-blown, head-over-heels, found-my-soulmate love…

…Leading them to a place where two hearts become one. To a lifelong commitment of love and strength, passion and devotion.

So, though the rain fell outside, Steph and Denny stayed safe and warm in each other’s arms. From the moment they first laid eyes on each other that day, to speaking their vows in front of their autumn-inspired alter, to sharing their first kiss as husband and wife, to playfully smashing cake in one another’s faces, the love they radiated for one another made the weather outside an inconsequential detail. They brought sunshine of their own.

In fact, one of our favorite parts of the entire day was witnessing Steph and Denny singing to each other as they danced to their song, In Case You Didn’t Know by Brett Young. They giggled, tears streaming down their faces, as Denny bent backward and belted out, “Baby I’m Crazy About You!” It was as if they were the only two in the room, and the rest of us just got to witness this beautifully candid moment they were sharing together. We were crazy about them!

…We’re not crying, you’re crying!!!

We are so, so, SO lucky to have been a part of such a beautiful love story. And forever grateful to our new friends for letting us share in and help capture their joy as they start this next chapter in life.

Once again, congratulations, Steph and Denny! We wish you a lifetime of happiness, love, and ALL the giggles as you continue on this journey together.
