you keep me above water
Water has always been something that drew Emily and Alex closer together. Alex grew up in Bowley’s Quarters in a house on the river, while Emily spent many summers living in Ocean City, MD. They also share a passion for lacrosse, something they bonded over when they first met. Emily was a substitute teacher at the school where Alex worked. They went on their first date the day after Emily’s job status went from temporary to long-term!
Two years ago, they were on a trip to Chincoteague Island with Alex’s family. On July 31st, Alex and Emily took a sunrise bike ride to the beach. As they were walking along the ocean, Alex got down on one knee and asked Emily to spend forever with him. Now, on the last day of July, two years later, Emily and Alex will exchange their vows at Bohemia Overlook, a gorgeous waterfront estate on the North-Eastern Shore.
This week, we were so grateful to get back to work, capturing the love Alex and Emily share at Swan Harbor Farm. It only seemed fitting that they celebrated their love and engagement at another place with a beautiful overlook of the Chesapeake Bay. And to be honest, it is one of our absolute favorite places in Harford County, MD for portrait sessions!
