Water has always been at the center of Emily and Alex’s story, so it was only fitting to celebrate their love at Swan Harbor Farm—one of our favorite waterfront spots in Harford County, Maryland. Their bold Swan Harbor engagement session overflowed with warmth, movement, and intention, capturing a relationship that flows as naturally as the tides behind them.

Sweeping views of the Chesapeake Bay and golden light dancing through the trees made the perfect prelude to their upcoming wedding at Bohemia Overlook.

A Connection That Started with Lacrosse—and a Little Fate

Alex and Emily met at Mount Carmel High School, where she had just accepted a substitute teaching role. Alex worked at the school, and their shared love of lacrosse sparked an instant connection. As their friendship deepened, Emily’s job became long-term—and they marked the occasion with their first official date.

From then on, they were inseparable—grounded in shared values, a love of the outdoors, and pure joy in one another’s company.

A Sunrise Proposal on the Sand

Two years ago, during a family trip to Chincoteague Island, Alex planned a quiet, meaningful proposal. He invited Emily on a sunrise bike ride to the beach. As waves curled along the shore and soft light broke across the water, Alex knelt in the sand and asked her to spend forever with him.

On July 31—exactly two years later—they’ll exchange vows at the breathtaking Bohemia Overlook, a waterfront estate that beautifully reflects their story.
