If you follow along on my Instagram stories, you may have come across a video I did about Great Big Smiles Orthodontics. Long story short, I called their office a few weeks back for some information. Within forty-five minutes of calling I received an appointment. When I walked into the office, it was full of compassion and smiles. I was in awe of the staff and absolutely loved my experience. Sydnee Coombe is one of the amazing people I met that day.
When I went in for my appointment, Sydnee, the office manager, and I began chatting. I was excited to learn that she needed family portraits; and not just for her beautiful little family of four, but for three generations! Large family portrait sessions remind me of my large family and all the times we have tried to cram ourselves into a camera frame for a picture to hang on the wall or to give to our grandparents for Christmas. I was all in. Within just a few weeks, we coordinated our schedules and got their growing family out in the desert for sunset portraits.
I absolutely loved photographing this family. They were fun, full of their individual personalities, and most of all had such a close relationship. They reminded me so much of my family and I immediately felt like part of theirs. We braved the desert flies, the teddy bear chollas, and the rocks on Blevins Trail to capture these sweet moments. I wouldn’t change one thing!
