This is Jess Walker here with Five Coordination Tips. Well really, five little things I want you to know whether you are or are not a MaeWood Couple!
We are willing to bet that it’s not every day you are prepping to throw a lux event for your closest friends and family. This might even be the first time! We think you should be able to look back on the memories of your day with nothing but smiles and bliss. Here are five things your event coordinator wants you to know.
We don’t think the execution of your day should be left up to chance. You’ve put in the work to plan the day of your dreams. When it comes to event planning the possibilities are endless. The industry is brimming with ‘must-haves’, ‘bangs for your buck’, and ‘dream setups.’ If you invest in anything, make it your peace of mind. Let us be your advocate, your wizard behind the curtain, and your ticket to eat, drink, and be married! Every couple deserves that.
That doesn’t mean we think you should be afraid to interview several coordinators and choose the one that you vibe with most!
Have you ever heard of it? It’s where anything that would normally take 5 minutes – will actually take about 30! And, the reverse is also true – every 30 minutes of your day is going to feel like 5! For us, your wedding is personal. We know that if you don’t have us (or someone like us), who will take care of you?!?! Many of our tasks may seem small on their own, but having that magician (heyyy!) behind the curtain to handle them – and so many more ‘day of’ dilemmas – adds up to a stress-free, organized day for everyone.
Your coordinator should be ready to douse any flames before you even smell the smoke.
And that’s a good thing!?!? Semantics, amiright? But seriously, at the MWC we like to keep our couples in the driver’s seat – you make all the final decisions, choices, and plans; we ride in the passenger seat and execute your dream day as if you were running the show. 100% your personality – 0% of the stress! Oh, you want a planner?!!? Amazing! Your coordinator and your planner should be able to work hand in hand, like Thelma + Louise, Wayne + Garth, and Bey + Jay.
We’ve been known to pull off some real-life She-Guyver moves in our day and while we like to think we can read minds (and admittedly, we can read a room quite well) your people can’t know what they don’t know. If they are missing something that makes your heart sing or you’ve got a burning question…..shoot! Vendors and professionals are never short on opinions and stories of events passed but YOU are the expert on YOUR day, we check our egos at the door and really listen to our couples.
Seriously, your coordinator should want to do everything they can to make your event AH-MAZING!
The Collective works for the couple – not the venue and not the vendors. What we do (and don’t do) will be remembered for a lifetime, and we don’t take that lightly. You haven’t put in all this energy and work to be overwhelmed and ‘checked out’.
Presence on your day is priceless.
Although there is so much more that we will keep sharing with you, these are the top five coordination tips I want you to know. So there you have it!
