Rebecca is just about to enter the third trimester of her first pregnancy with her baby girl, Lily Sage. Normally we wait another month before doing maternity photographs, but Jes won’t be back in town again until Lily is born in January. So it was now or never! Lily is just big enough for her baby bump to pop out in her mamma’s maternity photographs. She is growing healthy and strong, and we can’t wait to meet her. At 28 weeks, Lily is the size of an egg plant and she is growing every day. She has been so good to her mamma so far. Although every mom-to-be needs time to adjust to their new superhuman bodies, Rebecca has enjoyed every second of her first two trimesters!
Since we already shared Rebecca and Scott’s story on their blog about their pregnancy reveal, we thought we would share something Rebecca and Scott shared with us. We don’t typically do this, but sometimes our words just can’t do a client’s experience justice.
Rebecca and Scott, thank you. Thank you for trusting us with this beautiful season in your life. For being beautiful friends, and for inviting us into your lives as sweet Lily’s journey continues. We love you, and thank you for such kind and amazing words.
From the moment I found out we were growing our family by two tiny feet, I knew I wanted the journey to be documented in various ways. Jes and Meg have always been there to capture special moments for Scott and me, so my first thought was, “will MaeWood help me share the news with Scott and capture all of it on film?” I called the same day I took a pregnancy test and sure enough I was penciled in for a session only 7 days away. I was given all the tips and pointers to share the exciting news! It was at that moment I knew I would schedule every session along the way with MaeWood.
Then one week later, I picked out a simple dress, put a nice button down on Scott, and headed to a field where Jes told me we would do our couple’s maternity photo shoot. When Scott and I arrived, Jes greeted Scott and me with a huge hug and yet again, brought something special just for us. Jes had made a floral crown for me to wear from the flowers we used from the milk bath shoot. We took simple and elegant pictures and laughed like teenage kids in love with Jes cracking jokes and making us feel comfortable.
Of course, our next photo shoot will be when Lily arrives! We have already booked MaeWood to do this shoot in our home! Jes gave me the floral crown tonight and told me to hold onto it, we would use it for Lily’s newborn debut! How thoughtful is this? A single prop was used and transformed in three ways to tie all of the shoots together! MaeWood is creative, loving, open, and honest. I would recommend them to anyone for any event or special moment. I cannot say enough good about them. They have become more than just photographers to us, they have become part of our family and have been there for the most intimate moments of my life.
