One of our favorite elements of styled shoots is the ability to bring an incredible creative team together and create magic from a single vision mixed with everyone’s personalities and talents! We also love that it doesn’t always have to be high-end professionals in the wedding business, but we can support the “little guys” just starting out or who want to test the waters before diving in head first. Being able to lift up each business or individual brings so much love to a community that is often competing rather than supporting. We have been so eager to share this Elegant Boho Inspired Wedding with you guys as well as the story behind it. So here it goes!
This wasn’t our first styled shoot, but it is the first one we have ever planned, coordinated, and hosted, while also doing the lead photography! Ya see, we don’t get to work together as often now that we live on opposite coasts, and we cherish being able to share our story and friendship with our future MWP brides, grooms, and family, so we put this sweet styled wedding together! We have to be honest…we had no real experience with wedding planning or styling, but we have learned from the best over the years. Our dear friend, Kristi Stevens with Shoptini, has taught us well. Kristi has been super busy with all of her happenings, as well as her anniversary, so she wasn’t able to directly help us with this specific styled wedding, but we were so very lucky to have some onsite help by Jess Walker. Jess is a previous educator like us, and over the last few years, she has focused on her full-time job of being a stay-at-home mama with her two beautiful kiddos. She is a southern sweetheart with a smile the size of Texas, and she blogs about home decor, style, mom-ming, and everything in between. We are so darn happy we had the chance to work with her in this capacity because we are hoping to convince her to become a part of our MWP team for all of our weddings in the future!
It was kind of tricky for Jes (photographer/co-author) to go to the Cork Collection when she lives in Arizona, so she was so happy that Jess Walker was able to be Megan’s sidekick to “shop” for decor and table decorations! You guys may or may not know this but Jes is a bit of a control freak and likes to be in charge of things, especially when she is in charge of planning. And that’s okay, we still love her for it! With that being said, she had total confidence in Jess and Megan, and the items they picked were just perfect. When choosing decor, Jess and Meg used an elegant boho theme for inspiration. They focused on vintage tones of gold, to coordinate with the eucalyptus table piece, blush, and purples paired with glass copper elements and crystal glasses. When designing the tables, no detail was left undone. Jess’ eye for design is so impeccable. She did an amazing job at taking our vision and bringing it to life. She even created a miracle when she turned an 8 person table into a sweetheart table for the bride and groom!
The pairing of muted greens, pinks, and purples seamlessly complemented one another in the bouquet, cake florals, and centerpieces designed by Kate with Love and Luster Floral. Her eucalyptus table runner also brought the long, eight-person sweetheart table to life, and clearly led the focus to the bride and groom under the beautiful chandelier. Kate brought a light-hearted energy to our day and her florals were breathtaking.
Our invitations and paper products, created by Alpha Graphics were beautifully graced with rose gold foil to match the elegant boho decor.
Since we rarely have the chance to work together, other than our weddings, Meg and Jes decided to also fit in a few business photographs taken by Megan’s mamma. We were so lucky to have Cathy’s Hair Styles and Silver Immersion there to not only take care of the bride but to also make us feel beautiful.
MWP Business Shots: Hair By Cathy and Makeup By Silver Immersion
Amanda with Silver Immersion set our bride’s hair and makeup to perfectly match her gown, and the Kat from Posh Bridal was so helpful during bridal portraits! At one point, we are pretty sure she had a head crown on with the vail wrapped around her neck, carrying the train, and fluffing the dress! Superwoman if you ask us! The finishing touch of the day was the gorgeous naked cake with classic buttercream icing by The Baker’s Table. It not only looked gorgeous and elegant, but it tasted scrumptious!
We learned a lot on our first go around, but we are so very excited to share this with all of you! We are honored to of had the opportunity to work with such an amazing team of creatives and we look forward to our next styled wedding!
