We have said it before, and we will say it again… engagement photos are imperative. We provide our brides and grooms with an engagement session because we strongly believe they are valuable for you!
-We have a chance to work together prior to the wedding day.
-You have a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera and practice your core posing so that it comes naturally on your wedding day.
-It gives us a chance to know you better so that we can love and serve you well, learn what poses work best for you, and what kind of specific guidance you may need on your wedding day!
Are you convinced!? We hope so! But now that you have them, what the hell do you do with engagement photos!?
We beg of you. Do Not let them just sit on a flash drive somewhere or in your online gallery, they deserve to be seen and showcased. It is our hope that you are able to enjoy your engagement photographs during and after your wedding season, and here are a few ways you can do just that!
If you are anything like Meg and me, dressing up, going out on the town, and having professional photographs taken don’t happen very often! So when it does, create tangible memories out of it by adding artwork to your walls. Canvas galleries and mounted prints add so much love to a home, especially when they showcase your love story.
This is also how we hope you use your engagement images! Seeing your images on your walls, living with the reminder of your love, and enjoying them every day provides a totally different experience than viewing them on a screen. We believe in engagement sessions so much that we include it as a gift to our couples, and we believe in the artwork so much that we provide you have a lifetime warranty on all fine art prints ordered through your MWP gallery!
Save The Dates are the most common use for engagement photographs. They are a beautiful way to get your guests to add your wedding date to their calendar with a gorgeous photo of you! The Save the Date can also double as a keepsake if you turn it into a magnet or Christmas ornament. We absolutely love getting them in the mail and look forward to every wedding we book so that we have little gifts when we open our mailboxes!
We also recommend using them for thank-you cards! After your bridal shower, you will have tons of thank you cards to write out, why not let your family and friends in on a little of your session by adding an engagement photo to the front!? Including your photos and a thoughtful handwritten message is the perfect way to connect with your guests and make them feel the appreciation you have for them!
Last but not least, photo stamps! If Save the Dates and Thank you cards with images of yourselves aren’t your thing, you can add a little flair to your envelope with a personalized image from your engagement session. The awesome thing about photo stamps is that you can use them throughout the whole year and beyond, on anything you would put a regular stamp on! in fact, I have just convinced myself that I need to purchase more for myself!
As Instagram is in full swing and wedding websites are the current way to give digital details of your wedding day, there is a need for breathtaking images of you and your fiance! These are the perfect places to showcase your engagement photographs, but as we said above, we truly hope that these aren’t the only places you grace with your photos!
We (Jes and Michael) used our engagement photographs in our guestbook and all of us absolutely loved it, guests included! It was so much fun to go through our photos and create something knowing the next time we opened it we would have not only the memory of our session and our engagement by sweet forget-me-not notes from our favorite humans on this earth! Meg and I love to create custom guest books for you so that your guests have just as much fun as ours did!
The options here are endless! With technology today and all of the online platforms for photo printing, you can print photographs on basically anything. “Anything” thoughtful and tasteful can turn into an amazing gift or favor for your wedding day! Friends adore you, parents treasure you, and grandparents are all over both! You know that they would all love to have a keepsake with your engagement photos, a sweet image of you and your love printed, framed, turned into a blanket, or added to a bottle of wine is the perfect gift or favor!
We hope that you feel inspired to use your engagement photos! Don’t let them go to waste. This once-in-a-lifetime session is a piece of your love story and should do so much more than get lost in the shuffle of your pictures on your computer.
