Well, friends, we have found our pair here in Arizona! Kaila and Jake are Arizona natives and they remind us so much of Michael and me. They are fun, down for any adventure, joke around with each other, and cuss like sailors… they are our people! The best part about it? Jake proposed during Super Bowl last year in front of Kaila’s entire family and we were able to capture their engagement photographs last night, just before Super Bowl 2019!

How lucky are we that they chose us to adventure, have fun, and cuss alongside them on their wedding day!? (Don’t worry everyone, we keep our potty mouths to ourselves unless it is invited!). There is no doubt in this world that we missed Meg last night as we walked around Blevins Trail on Usery Mountain, chasing the sunset between the Saguaro cacti. Luckily, she will be making the trek out to Arizona to help us celebrate Jake and Kaila’s wedding day at Tercero by Aldea Weddings in November. Michael, my husband, was kind enough to spend his Saturday evening traveling out of town to assist. He is always great for a good laugh, connects with the grooms, and wears the reflector pretty well, am I right?!

All joking aside… something really stood out to me during my time with these two. They were RAW. REAL. Most of all. BEST FRIENDS. Not like the typical couple who are also best friends, but friends for life. Best friends first and a couple second.

“Can I drop her?!” said Jake, as he dipped her back for a sweet kiss.

Part of my job is making our brides and grooms feel comfortable and happy so that the joy they have for each other shines through their photographs. Well, instead of making them laugh all evening, they had US cracking up. Comments dropped left and right and they were a hoot! They inspired me to step outside of the continuous pattern our life holds and to not take things so seriously. During their time with us, they sweetly made fun of each other, didn’t pretend to be anything they weren’t in front of my camera and were an absolute dream team as they snuggled and laughed as the sun continued to drop. Kaila and Jake have stressful jobs in the healthcare field. Jake is a nurse and Kaila is a social worker; so together, they love camping, hitting up Chipotle, spending a ton of time with family, and always finding time to relax.

Kaila… Jake. We love you guys. I think we were connected from the moment I drew your name for our Instagram Giveaway and I can’t wait for Meg to see just how truly awesome you guys are on your wedding day! We are so excited to celebrate with you!
