Twenty-twenty, also known as “the year that shall not be mentioned,” could have really been a complete blowout. We could have tossed in our many hats and called it quits. We could have curled up in the fetal position and cried until it was over (we’ll be honest, there were days when we wanted to). Our team could have lost sight of the beauty that was right in front of us. But instead…
we pushed through
We may have had a few moments that looked like the test shots of Meg. A bit blurry, inconsistent, and scared (mask ready and socially distant). Other moments looked more like the shot of Jes. Complete and utter befuddlement but determined to tackle the task ahead. Regardless, we made it, along with some really precious memories along the way.
Lucky for us, we got through the tears and the hardships together and learned so many lessons in the process. One of them being that Jes needs to work on taking more behind the scenes shots of Meg! We also realized how strong of a team we truly are. Our team was able to serve our couples with all the love, care, and devotion they deserve, even through a year that was wrought with tragedy and strife.
In 2020, L♡VE WAS NOT CANCELED, and we were able to turn MWP into a family business by officially adding our hubbies to the team!
Michael (Jes’ Husband)
Dave (Meg’s Husband) Working with Jes to Hang a Dress
We started officially offering videography to our brides and grooms, and Michael looked pretty damn good doing it!
And… we teamed up with this red-headed resourceful beauty, Jess Walker, as our preferred in-house wedding planner/day-of-coordinator, who absolutely kicked ass on her first wedding!!!!
Even though our hands were full, our hearts were heavy, and it didn’t feel like we could possibly take on one more thing, we learned that we still had more to give.
We had space to hold all the things from our grooms’ pockets…
Booties to soak up the rain so we could get those epic sit-n-snuggle shots…
and…the ability to bring a smile to the face of a sweet baby girl who just woke up from a nap and wouldn’t hand over her binky!
Jes & Meg continued to guide our couples with step-by-step directions during portraits,
and made wedding photography dreams come true.
We summoned extra brain power to keep wedding timelines on schedule and organize groups of rowdy bridal parties and disappearing family members!
And we got creative with keeping our flat lays off the floor!
Jes even made the bed for some great bridesmaids shots… and then jumped on it and had to fix it!
2020 tested us, but in the end, we persevered.
We are so excited for all of the celebrations of love to come in 2021 so that we can continue wowing our brides with same day sneak peeks,
add additional hats to our job titles,
and soak in the little moments of peace and joy during a wedding day.
We are looking forward to more teamwork, first looks, dress and veil fluffing, love stories,
making friends with guests, and truly connecting with our couples!
Thank you to all of the fantastic vendors, breathtaking venues, and our most perfect couples. We just don’t know how we got so lucky! Here is to a new year, new beginnings, and new love stories!
