Like many other mammas awaiting for the arrival of their newborn, Mahogany feels like pregnancy, motherhood, and all of its phases go by so fast. The moments are fleeting. It is so important to her to capture each moment as her tiny family is about to grow by two more feet. When she was one of the first to book our series of gift sessions in California, we were thrilled. Their family is beautiful, their hearts are pure, and we love documenting couple’s love stories as well as celebrating when their love grows.

Mahogany and her husband, Bay, worked in the same large office building for years, as she admired him from afar. She waited for the day when he would ask her out for coffee, and one day, it happened. She was smitten and fell hard for him. Fast forward a few years and now they are happily married, with a beautiful baby girl, and their little guy on the way! Although they have a family name chosen, they are keeping it a surprise and we can’t wait to find out what it is!

During our time together, Mahogany shared how amazing her husband has been through the entirety of both pregnancies.  She explained how helpful and incredible he has been and how the best thing that he has done (and continues to do) is really step up in
entertaining Bellamy when Moe is under the weather.  This is priceless.

When the family showed up for their maternity session, sweet Bellamy was craving some water. You guessed it!  It was unfortunately the only thing none of us had! Any photography session with a two year old has its ups and downs, but sweet Bellamy was not interested at all. But you know what, that is life, and while shooting through a mixture of tears and giggles, I sent my little girl (not so little anymore) on a mission to fetch some water! While we were waiting, I had the opportunity to see how much Mahogany and Bay support each other and how well they handled the moments of tears. It was so beautiful and refreshing. Even through the chaos, the moments of frustration, joy, and excitement all bundled up into a split second, they are strong at the core and their love was so evident in their photographs.
