From Illinois to Arizona: A Season of Change for the Randle Family
Some love stories begin quietly and grow with time. I had the joy of witnessing one such chapter during a sunny Papago Park family session—an afternoon that felt as warm and open as the desert skies above us.
Deonta and Naja met back in junior high through mutual friends. They started dating during her sophomore year, and according to Naja, “It’s been a long time!” Watching them now—so clearly in step and full of love—it’s obvious their connection has only deepened over the years.
Earlier this year, even before the world shifted in unexpected ways, they were planning a big move. With Naja preparing to graduate from college, they packed up their life in Illinois and headed west. They were chasing sunshine, adventure, and new opportunities for their kids—and for Naja’s growing career.
Despite all the uncertainty of the past year, the Randle family made their move happen. “We hit our main goal,” Naja told me, and the pride in her voice was unmistakable. It hasn’t always been easy, but together they’ve built a new chapter filled with hope and momentum.

Being trusted to document this moment in their lives was an honor. The Randle family’s story is one of resilience, warmth, and love—and I can’t wait to see where life takes them next. We got to know each other, lean into the vibrant light surrounding us, and have fun.
