I don’t know if you all have noticed, but I LOVE to plan ahead and live by my calendar. I am the worst, however, at thinking ahead for my business. My focus is on serving our couples and looking ahead to communicating and planning their wedding days or sessions. When it comes to thinking about social media contests and collaborations, they are pretty much an afterthought. This year, however, I was pumped that I remembered ahead of time. Birthdays are my absolute favorite, including mine, and I wanted to celebrate by gifting a session to one lucky couple. Not only did they get a portrait session with me, but we also captured the video (coming soon) and teamed up with Ja’Nice Ramos for hair and makeup.

So many amazing couples participated, and I am so grateful for that. It just warms my heart when I see people excited to have such a beautiful and intimate experience that seconds as a date night with their love. It was anyone’s gift to win, but I am so glad that Karen was that lucky gal. Karen and Chris have been together for nine years and have never experienced a professional portrait session. It was such an honor to provide them with their very first experience and spend the evening on the water and hiking the trails at Lake Pleasant Regional Park.

Last night was certainly about their love and the sweet relationship they have with each other. But that wasn’t the only thing we were celebrating! Karen was just accepted to the University of South Alabama Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program, and we could not be more excited for her! Lucky for us, her program is online, so hopefully, we will have the opportunity to capture their love again!
