Last year we got to know Katie and Rob via a video call. It was apparent from the get-go that this sweet, young couple is clearly head over heels in love. We were so surprised and excited to realize that Jes and Rob went to high school together and that Megan was teaching at the same time they were there! It was a blast from the past chatting about mutual friends, siblings, and life since high school. Sometimes those high school years feel like just yesterday, yet we have all grown and changed so much since then. Now, Rob is getting married!

Sometimes this universe brings people into our lives for a reason, and we are thrilled that our business brought these two beautiful souls into ours (or back into ours in Rob’s case). People connect with others in ways we may not even realize. Some of those connections are meant to teach us lessons, while others elicit inspiration…but this connection between Rob and Katie is one full of sparks and passion and pure joy! Theirs is a connection and love that burns deeply with a foundation of friendship that brings support, affection, appreciation, confidence, and safety. A connection that will stand the tests of time.

Katie and Rob have known each other for what feels like forever for them. They shared with us that their love story began in February of 2015, just one week before Rob had to move to Maui for work until the summer months. While he was gone, they both made it a point to keep in touch and keep their relationship alive and well. When he returned, they couldn’t be a part another minute, so they decided to move in together! They got their first fur baby, Kona, and began building their lives together. On Christmas Eve, almost three years later, Rob and Katie went to their favorite walking trail where they take Kona. Kona absolutely loves the stream off the path, and Rob and Katie love watching her splash and play in the water. This time, Rob took Katie down to the stream with a different plan in mind, and before she knew it, he was down on one knee asking her to be his wife! Like most women in love, we tease and joke (sometimes more seriously than we like to admit) about putting a ring on it! Katie joked around with Rob all the time, but she did not expect this romantic gesture down by their favorite stream. It was the most perfect surprise to start off the holiday season…and, of course, she said yes!

For the last eight months, Katie and Rob have been in full wedding planning mode! Sometimes, wedding planning can get stressful – it is a lot to arrange and make decisions about, but when we saw Katie and Rob this week for their engagement session, they were cool as cucumbers and more in love than ever before. These lovebirds danced, giggled, kissed, and shared breathtaking moments with us. We were absolutely dying. We just kept drooling over the backs of our cameras and literally breaking out dance moves during their session. They brought everything they needed to their session (themselves all decked out in their engagement glam) and did exactly what we asked (show us their love). Despite the approaching downpour, it was absolutely perfect, and we even got to meet Kona!

We are literally counting down the hours now until this adorable couple ties the knot at Weatherly Farms on Saturday. Here’s to you both! So much love to your sweet family of three!
