our story
I know that this should be about Meghan and Joe’s love story, and I promise it will be. But first! I have to give a little back story!
Meghan and I have been friends since high school. Meghan has always been that person for me with a heart of gold and a smile that made everything right in the world. We spent weekends together, got pictures before school dances, and took a bunch of the same classes to prepare to be teachers!
During our first semester at Towson University, we were roommates. We supported each other through our Education degrees, ate more Ramen Noodles than we can count, and spent many nights up late talking until we couldn’t keep our eyes open. This girl and I dreamed about love, life, and what might be after we graduated. We had our hearts broken, stressed over classes, and eventually, our paths began to change.
Regardless, she has always been that friend that allows me to wander, figure out life, and reconnect with her like nothing ever changed. She stood by me when I became a mom, she stood next to me on my wedding day, and she taught in the portable adjacent to mine at Jarrettsville Elementary School. I got to do what I loved most with one of the people I loved most in this world. Now, we have the opportunity to stand by her side on her wedding day and celebrate with her on one of the most important days of her life. I am just so honored. I finally get to give back to her after all the years she has given to me and witness her saying, “I do!” to the love of her life, Joe.
their love story
Meghan and Joe’s love story began 12 years ago at North Harford High School. They didn’t know each other back then, but they knew of each other. Joe grew up with Meghan’s brother, Jeff, and because he was younger than us, their paths didn’t really cross all that often. So although he had been to Meghan’s house a few times and they sometimes were in the same crowd, they were never physically in the same place at the same time. The universe just knew the timing wasn’t right. Lessons needed to be learned and paths needed to be formed for their love to grow!
Two years ago, Meghan was scrolling through Instagram and saw Joe posted a picture of a rockfish, so she liked it. At the time, she didn’t even realize who it was. Over the years, Joe went from a blond-headed surfer kid to a brown-haired, full-bearded man who liked to fish! When he came back just moments later and liked a few of her photos, she opened up his profile to see what this guy was all about. She realized it was Joe and liked a few more of his posts. They went back and forth commenting and liking until Christmas morning when Joe slid into Meghan’s DMs! After catching up, Joe built up the nerve to ask Meghan out to dinner that week, and she said yes. As Meghan shared, “that was all she wrote!”
the engagement
During her thirtieth birthday party in August, Meghan was surrounded by all of her friends and family grabbing a picture with Joe in front of the birthday party backdrop and he turned to her and asked her to marry him. At that moment, the world disappeared. It was just the two of them there, lost in their own little world, talking and giggling with each other. This is their favorite place to be! Just like when Joe asked her out to dinner that Christmas morning, she said yes! In just under a year, they will be back in front of their family and friends, sharing their vows with each other!
We can’t wait to witness these love birds becoming Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zebec! Until then, we hope you enjoy their sweet engagement session at the Stepping Stone Museum in Havre de Grace, Md!
