This past weekend, we were honored to capture Sierra and Jesse’s rustically elegant Pine Ridge Farm Wedding in Stewartstown, PA. The celebration focused on the importance of family, love took center stage, and cherished bonds were further forged to create memories to last a lifetime.
When it comes to weddings, nothing warms our hearts more than witnessing the union of two souls deeply in love. But one thing that often makes a wedding special is an emphasis on family. The unwavering support, the shared memories, and the boundless love that brings everyone together…
“ True love can weather any storm”
Much like their engagement session at Pond View Farm earlier in July, storms rolled through southern Pennsylvania over the course of Sierra and Jesse’s wedding day.
However, the threat of inclement weather couldn’t cage this couple! After a short rain delay, the Pine Ridge team worked at lightning speed to situate the ceremony site as sunlight peeked through the clouds. They quickly dried off seats and re-adorned the space with unique touches chosen by the soon-to-be-newlyweds. Delicate, pink and white petals in place, seats desaturated, and lanterns lit, we were ready to get these two down the aisle!
And there, during their intimate ceremony in the woodland grove atop the Pine Ridge property, surrounded by those in life they love the most, Sierra & Jesse became Mr. & Mrs. Derksen.
Family-oriented fun
While taking in the view of their favorite people playing in the venue’s pastoral fields fixed under post-storm, cotton candy skies, Jesse said to us,
“This – this is what we want to remember most from this day. All the families and kids, having so much fun together.”
Our couple went above and beyond to make their special day family-friendly and kid-inclusive. This was not just for their little one, sweet Maya, but also for the other families in attendance. They set up games all around the reception space’s exterior, including cornhole, Connect 4, and soccer, to name a few! Later, during the reception, this crew showcased their family-forwardness even more with an anniversary dance following the father-daughter dance. By the end, the winning couple with over 40 years of marriage were cheered on by the barn!
Sierra & Jesse
Your wedding day was indeed an ode to kinship. It was a celebration that beautifully illustrated the importance of family bonds in shaping our lives and relationships. Fittingly, the love you share is also a testament to the power of weathering any storm in the shelter of each other.
We adore you, friends! We are so grateful we got to be part of the legacy of your love story!
