Peter and Lillie’s private estate York, PA wedding was everything a couple could hope for—intimate, meaningful, and rich with love. Their celebration unfolded in the backyard of dear friends, a warm and welcoming space that carried the weight of years of friendship. The sun peeked through moody clouds, the breeze was soft and steady, and the energy between their closest loved ones was unmistakable.
Their parents wiped away quiet tears as Pete, a longtime family friend and their officiant, began the ceremony. He had watched Peter and his brother, Adam, grow from spirited boys to thoughtful men. He’d witnessed birthdays, graduations, and now weddings—first Adam and Amanda, and now Peter and Lillie.
Adjusting the Sails
Pete offered a piece of advice passed down to him decades ago: the story of a pessimist, an optimist, and a realist setting sail in a storm. The pessimist regretted launching, the optimist believed it would all be fine, and the realist? The realist adjusted the sails.
Marriage, Pete explained, is about just that—staying on course together and adjusting to whatever life may bring.
Peter and Lillie are those realists. Every day, they choose each other and navigate hand in hand.
A Shift in Plans, A Steady Heart
Just a week before their wedding, Governor Tom Wolf’s updated COVID restrictions eliminated indoor gatherings of more than 25. Their original venue—the Industrial Museum of York—was no longer an option. But their love didn’t waver. With the generosity of their friends, Dan and Jenny moved the celebration to their beautiful estate, keeping their original date—two years to the day after Peter proposed in Capri.
Peter and Lillie, you inspire us. Thank you for trusting us with your story, for your joy, and for your steady love. Here’s to a lifetime of beautifully adjusted sails.
