Spring Swan Harbor Farm Engagement | Alley & Chris

Continuing our festive wedding week, we had the absolute privilege of capturing Alley and Chris’ engagement session at the breathtaking Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace, MD. The spring setting, with its lush landscapes and sweeping waterfront views, made for a perfect backdrop to this dynamic couple’s story—a tale of love, laughter, and undeniable chemistry.

How They Met

Alley and Chris’ story began in the halls of C. Milton Wright High School in Bel Air, MD. Partners in Mr. Keech’s PE class, Chris couldn’t help but notice Alley, whom he described as “the hottest girl in school.” Yet, it wasn’t until after graduation, when fate intervened, that Chris finally gathered the courage to ask her out. Fast forward a decade, and the stars aligned once more—this time through the dating app Bumble. Their connection was instant, and as they say, the rest is history.

The Proposal

Two years into their relationship, Chris knew he was ready to take the leap. With the help of a close friend, he meticulously planned his proposal. The setting? Their favorite dinner spot, Libs Grill, where Chris insisted they order dessert—even though Alley was initially hesitant. When the key lime pie arrived, Alley was greeted with a sweet surprise: “Marry me?” written in chocolate on her plate. It was the perfect intimate moment that sealed their forever.

Their Engagement Session

On a sultry July evening, we met Alley and Chris at Swan Harbor Farm to capture the essence of their love before their wedding in August. Despite the sweltering humidity, these two were undeterred—exuding excitement and joy from the moment we started. Dressed to impress, they arrived with their charming pup, Camden (affectionately known as Chicken Nugget), and an infectious energy that made every shot feel effortless.

Catch Me!

We kicked off the session with our usual prompts, but Alley and Chris were so in sync that we quickly moved on to more playful poses. One of the highlights was when we asked Alley to jump into Chris’ arms, and she shouted, “Okay, catch me!” The moment immediately transported us back to the iconic 1987 anthem Catch Me (I’m Falling) by Pretty Poison, as their joy and chemistry shone through in every frame.

“Are you ready boy?/ Here I come/ Catch me, I’m falling/ You came into my life/ The look in your eyes…”

It’s impossible not to hear those lyrics as you look at their images. There’s an effortless rhythm to Alley and Chris’ relationship, full of fun, spontaneity, and mutual admiration. We can’t help but imagine them dancing to that very song decades from now—still as carefree and in love as they are today.
