Continuing our holiday week of wedding celebrations last week was Alley & Chris’ engagement session at Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace, MD.
how they met
Our two love birds first met in the hallowed halls of C. Milton Wright High School in Bel Air, MD. Specifically, they were partners in Mr. Keech’s PE class. Chris always thought Alley was “the hottest girl in school,” but he didn’t ask her out until well after they walked across the graduation stage. About a decade later, they reconnected on the dating app, Bumble.
how he proposed
After two years of dating, Chris enlisted the help of a friend to organize and execute his proposal plan. He took Alley to a special dinner at their favorite restaurant, Libs Grill, where their friend arranged to have dessert created for them. At first, Alley said she didn’t want to order dessert, but Chris was adamant. Luckily, she gave in and ordered key lime pie! Decoratively written in chocolate on her dessert plate was
“Marry me?”

their engagement session
On a hot July night, we caught Alley and Chris at SHF to capture some engagement photos before they tie the knot in August. Let us tell ya, these two were READY to go! They had their fits. They had champs. Alley and Chris even had their sweet fur-babe, Camden (a.k.a. Chicken Nugget)! Most importantly, they had an excitement for the future that was evident in every photo and couldn’t be dampened, even by the overly humid weather doing its best to dampen EVERYTHING!
Catch Me!
We started our session with some of our standard prompts and quickly realized these two were ready for more advanced posing. We challenged Alley to jump into Chris’ awaiting arms and transition into a little lift. As Alley playfully shouted, “ok catch me!” we were transported back to 1987’s smash hit “Catch Me (I’m Falling)” by Pretty Poison.

it just feels right, yes? There’s something about Alley and Chris that’s as fun and frisky as a synth-pop 80’s anthem; we just know 40, 50, 60+ years from now they’ll still be every bit as lighthearted and laughter-filled as Pretty Poison’s banger! Now, all we need is for DJ James Kennedy to hit us with a remix!!!
