We met Emily & Brad at Susquehanna State Park in Havre de Grace, MD to capture some springtime, pre-wedding engagement pics. From the beginning, their genuine excitement for getting married and pure joy of just being together was palpable!
At some point, we’ve all heard someone say something to the effect of this familiar aphorism:
“It’s the little things in life that matter most…”
Well, it turns out, those people are correct, and we’ve got the photos to prove it!
Susquehanna State Park Engagement Session
We walked from the parking area at the Rock Run Grist Mill up the hill to the Carter-Archer Mansion and suddenly little things were everywhere: the look in Brad’s eyes, Em’s excited claps when we showed her their image previews on the back of the camera, both of their inability to contain their giggles from pose to pose (which if you know The MWC, you know we are ALL about those giggles!). The temps may have dipped below 50 degrees in Maryland that day, but you never would have known it by the warmth our couple kindled in our hearts just getting to watch them be.
It didn’t take a soothsayer to see that these two found uninhibited happiness in simply being together.
And then…
We explored the trails surrounding the mansion to find the property’s nearly hidden, small waterfall, complete with lounging ducks at the base! Look closely. Can you see those little things coming through?
There’s the touch of bare feet on a forest trail, the jubilation of two soulmates twirling in time together, flower petals floating in the breeze, the air of history provided by the backdrop of the carriage house and mansion, the sweet smiles exchanged by people who truly find something special in each moment shared together…
It’s the little things.
Emily & Brad, thank you both for such a fun afternoon exploring a piece of the Susquehanna together! We are so excited to have the whole team together to capture your Twilight-inspired special day this June (so soon)!!!!!
