It was an absolute pleasure to finally meet Gemma and Paxton for their desert mountain engagement session. We met at the Water Users Recreation Area, where you can launch kayaks and tubes into the Salt River. It was the perfect backdrop for this adventurous couple, who showed up to their session in the family camper van! An excellent option for changing outfits, staying cool in the desert warmth, and grabbing a few photos, by the way!
I can feel Gemma’s joy and excitement come through every message as we plan the details of their Knotty Barn wedding day! She shines in everything she does, helping others and making the people around her smile. Her energy is palpable. The atmosphere changed the moment she and Paxton stepped out of the van. A gentle breeze softened the heat, holding on to October’s last few warm days. I could see her twirling around the parking lot like a butterfly dancing between flowers on a spring day. It brought a smile to my face as I crossed the parking lot.
Her energy, love for life, and compassion run in the family and were exemplified from the beginning of her relationship with Paxton. They met while speed dating and found much in common in the four minutes they spoke. One of which is they both have nine siblings! (Yes, nine!) And they both have brothers named Preston. Who would have thought?
Unfortunately, about three weeks after their initial speed date, Paxton got into a horrible motorcycle accident. It left him needing constant care. Gemma and her family took Paxton into their home to care for him and drive him to all his doctor appointments. It didn’t take long for them to all realize the love story unfolding right before their eyes.
Thankfully, Paxton fully recovered from his accident, and they found a shared love for hiking and camping together! So, on a Saturday morning in April, they did a sunrise hike to the top of Camelback Mountain, where Paxton proposed! They admit it was quick but wouldn’t have it any other way. They cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives together and experience all the adventures ahead.
Today, Paxton walks this world with Gemma, living life like every day is their own personal adventure and saying things like, “You are my favorite color…” to which Gemma replies, “I know! And you are MY favorite color.”
Gemma and Paxton, we could not be more excited for you to spend the rest of your lives together. We are honored to call you a MaeWood Couple and honored for the opportunity to feel the beauty and kindness you bring to those around you!
