Chris and Kelly’s paths surely crossed before they started dating, but it took 13 years for fate to bring them together. Even though they went to the same schools, pre-k through college, the two-year gap kept them from being in the same crowd. Just before Kelly graduated from Clemson University, everything seemed to change.

It was the start of Christmas break during Kelly’s junior year and she was anxious to see her family. As she was packing up and heading out, Kelly received a message from Chris. He was a freshman in need of a ride back to Maryland. They met for the first time when she picked him up outside of his dorm room. Chris hopped in with a smile and made for a slightly awkward 10-hour car ride home.  At the time, Chris had a girlfriend and Kelly wasn’t interested in dating someone younger than her. They never realized that one request would start a life long journey for them.

Just a year after that long car ride home they went on a date and as Kelly tells us, “The rest is history.” Kelly and Chris both love to travel and dreamed of having children, so after they got married they took some time to see the world and buy their house before starting their family.

They describe themselves as one of the lucky couples, they didn’t have to try for long to become pregnant. Kelly could tell that something was different, but Chris wasn’t convinced it would happen so quickly. He was proven wrong when their Target pregnancy test immediately displayed two pink lines! Kelly has absolutely loved getting to hear the baby’s heartbeat and getting to see her for the first time in the sonogram!

To everyone other than her mommy and daddy, this little love is named baby G! Kelly wanted something more unique while Chris wanted something more common. It took Kelly and Chris 5 months to agree on a name. Now that they have one, they have decided to keep it a secret until she is born!

Kelly and Chris, you are going to be amazing parents. No doubt in our minds. We can’t wait to witness your family grow. Your kind-hearted souls, your genuine love for each other, and love and support you already show for your baby girl is already evidence of that!
