Amy & Chris’ Dreamy Fall Wedding at Vineyards of Mary’s Meadow

All of our MaeWood Collective weddings are special, as are all of our MWC couples. However, the ones with a multitude of intertwining stories and interweaving connections are a whole other level of magic. And Amy and Chris’ fall-inspired, farmhouse chic wedding this past weekend at Vineyards of Mary’s Meadow, that tied so much collective Harford County, MD history to our beautiful couple’s flourishing future…well, theirs was a downright dream. One, we were over the moon to get to witness, especially since Jes, Meg, and Dave all had their own previous connections with wedding party members and guests as well!

Amy and Chris met over two decades ago in the hallowed halls of Jarrettsville Elementary School. Despite Amy having a previous playground marriage to none other than Chris’ best man, Zach, at the time, Fate had other plans in store for this #pettyyoungthing. Over the course of their formative years, our lovebirds celebrated birthdays and special milestones together, attended school dances, cheered each other on at sporting events, etc. Consequently, growing up as such great friends with a shared past became the foundation on which Chris & Amy’s lovely life partnership is built. As they noted,

“Some people are friends with their significant others, but not many have known each other since third grade. Having those memories together while building a life…and making new memories is something we really love.”

Undeniably, the Petty-Young wedding was an event for the history books, too. Because as just about anyone in HARCO knows,

ain’t no party like a #pettyyoungparty!

As the MOH, Megan, said in her speech, the word “joyful” is what comes up most when we think of Amy and Chris. Now, when we think back on their day, that’s the aptest word we could use to describe it. Purely joyful. Between Amy’s irresistible, bubbly energy (one of Chris’ favorite things about her), Chris’ inviting laughter, and the overarching sense of connectedness throughout the entire gathering, we were blown away!!!

Of course, important aspects of their relationship were also woven into every element of their wedding, from the dance party during portraits and live music playing throughout the cocktail hour, to the hand-crafted place settings, name cards, autumn-palate florals, and napkins with their pup, Chesney, emblazoned in gold. Moreover, there was an on-site cigar specialist, custom rentals, and glow-in-the-dark lightsaber reception rave, all set on the gorgeous backdrop of a family-owned venue surrounded by the ones they love most in this world. It could not have been more perfect!

Amy and Chris, we are so honored we got to spend the day capturing and celebrating the utter joy you two share in this beautiful life you’ve created with one another! We love you both to the moon and back and hope you have the best time on your honeymoon in Hawaii!!!
